WHO SHOT YA! ...(Plaxico Burress)

Peep this...

This has got to be one of the dumbest and funniest incendents that has happened within the past few months. I'm definately a little late with this post, but that's due to the fact that I wasn't going to blog about this. Ultimately I found it to be too stupid to not put up so here we go. Peep this...

It's reported that NY Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress allegedly shot himself in the leg at a nightclub early Saturday morning. It's also reported that the injury wasn't life threatening. Just in case u didn't know, Burress caught the winning pass in the Giants' win over the Pats in the Super Bowl. Now what I find funny about this situation is 2 things;

1) He was already suffering from an injured hamstring. Now thats new definition to adding insult to injury.

2) He wasn't supposed to be at the nightclub in the first place. He was supposed to be resting his hamstring that the Giants just had him sign a $35M contract, to run with.

Hey, I'm not here to pass judgement. Fact of the matter is though, a gun (in his possesion) went off while he was somewhere he wasnt supposed to be and not only that, he was FURTHER injured. Now let's not even get to the MANDATORY 3.5 yrs or so for illegal possession of a fire arm, but think about the action that the NFL is about to rain down on the man. He has already been suspended and fined well in excess of 100k for other violations including a no call-no show to a team meeting. As for the courts, he most likely will plead guilty to a lesser charge to avoid jail time, but it was still a wrap he could have COMPLETELY AVOIDED. I personally think there is more to the story but in any case, its a funny situation to me so I had to share it with yall. Now peep that! Peace and Love.

The Breakfast Challenge!!

Peep this...

This isnt the average post now. It's more so me asking for opinions or help you might say. NY's high paced days hardly include the traditional practice of breakfast, "...the most important meal of the day!..." as medical professionals often reiterate. Now for the few of us New Yorkers, who actually practice this tradition on a daily basis, this has become boring a ruitine. Kinda like taking the 7:07am Manhattan bound Q train. A phrase I commonly hear in delis is; " just let me get the usual!", as the fry cook throws the bacon and eggs on the hot plate, then its off to starbucks for the venti coffee. Now, as guilty as I am for following this practice, I'm also conscious that it is NOT HEALTHY! and I'm taking resposibility for it. I know what you're probably thinking, "Here we go again, another 'wanna be' health professional trying to tell me I'm not eating right". Quiet the contrary. Like I said before, I'm only looking for advice. I've been working my brain, trying to find some alternative to sausage eggs and cheese on a raisin bagel, for days now. However, despite all of my brain storming, I can come up with nothing but pancakes, waffels and cereal. All of which do abosolutely NOTHING for me. Nuff said. I'm looking for some quick and easy meals to make that I can use to put some variety within my morning practise. So can yall give me something to peep?

Arc and Jusqu'a La Mort

Peep this...

I've had the privilage of modelling some pieces from the designer line Jusqu'a La Mort. It was a promo shoot (nothing commercial), courtesy of JM and photographer Randy Sukhai. Please forgive me for leaking this information yall, I couldn't help myself. I just want to say "it was alot of fun doing this shoot and working with Randy". JM is finally available in the United States and I was one of the first to not only wear it, but model the garments. Now isn't THAT something to peep?! So let me put you on game for a sec. For all of you who have never heard of JM, its one of the hottest lines in fashion to hit American soil for the past few years now. Heavily inspired by the Native American, the styles are definately going to be turning some heads here in the US. So far JM has been the trend secret within the "in" crowd, from people in the lime light to your neighborhood "fly guy". So here's what I'm gonna do for you guys. I'm gonna give you a little preview of this fashion gold mine. "Art that is elevated in the highest and most trendiest genres of fashion. This is the Jusqu'A La Mort experience"-Future. Take a peep at this!...

Exhibit A: The Real Hip Hop Project

Peep this...

Lets first give a warm welcome back to REAL NEW YORK HIP HOP!...(applause). Exhibit A marks the debut mixtape and the first in a trilogy by Brooklyn NY's own Poe Picasso. Lets get into this a little bit now...shall we? Poe Picasso is a sub-mainstream artist from Brooklyn NY, that's taking this Hip Hop industry by storm. With his slick metaphors, smooth word play and a real love and respect for the art and artists "who did it", as he states in his mixtape, it will only be a matter of time before the rest of the world embraces him and his music. I try to remain as un-biast and as fair as I can be at all times, but I do believe that Poe is going to be one of the names brought up in a conversation starting with "who put NY back on the map?". Exhibit A is a concept mixtape or an experiment, in which Poe used both industry production as well as orginal production to deliver a complete package. Packed with the grittiness and lyrical content that patrons of Hip Hop are ever so familiar with, he frolics with various flows as he tantalizes the ears with his lyrical intricacies. He then preluded and ended songs with "...just another experiment" and "...It's POE!" respectively. My personal fave's would be "By the Bulk" produced by: Problem Child, "Confused I Was" produced by yours truly The Architect, "The 9th Inning" produced by Megahertz and "Libra Scales" produced by Mr. DJ. Take a peep...at some of these songs at http://www.youtube.com/PoePicassoTV. For more music and updates on future projects and shows such as the second installment, "Exhibit B: Manifest Destiny" (coming soon), visit Poe Picasso at http://www.myspace.com/PoePicasso. To conclude, this mixtape is definately something to peep. Peace and Love.
